Rosie - aka Flo update

I was so happy to see an e-mail about our little Rosie today! Like the others, I am happy to say that she is doing well and has a great home:

...this is one of my favorite pictures of Flo --- she does this head tilt thing whenever she's trying to figure something out! She is doing great --- just loves the water and riding along on the four wheeler or in the car!

LuLu and Hannah updates!

Wow, it has been a while since I've posted photo's of the "babies"! I've had these photo's for a few weeks now, so they are already outdated - but still so stinkin' cute!

This is Lulu - now known as "Rawley". Her new people are very happy with her ...
She is sooooo funny her eyes and personality are absolutely the best. She is sleeping on my feet right now. As for the serious stuff she has been on Pigeons for about 3 weeks. Scott is very happy with her.

I get regular updates from the owner's of Hannah - now known as Sophie. She went to a great home with 3 little boys to keep her busy . . . or maybe she keeps them busy? She was a wild one while we had her!

Sophie is 23.5 lbs now and is doing great. She goes with us everyday to football practice and loves to ride in the car. No more crying. She still does not like to kennel up in the morning don't think that will change anytime soon. when the kids were gone on vacation for a week you could really tell she missed them. Mike takes her everyday to pick the boys up from daycare. She is starting to loss some of those baby teeth and the biting on humans has started to subside.

I just love getting updates I'll be sure to update as I receive them.

Charlie (aka Grady) UpDate!

The last time I saw Charlie - now known as Grady - he was peacefully sleeping in a crate, waiting for his new family to pick him up:

Now, a little over a month later he's doing great and growing rapidly. He is such a little fur ball and reminds me alot of our Brinkley when he was little. His new family report:

He is doing awesome!! He is actually quite mellow, lays around quite a bit but always ready to play when he has an interested candidate. He is retrieving like crazy, not gun shy and loves to be around the family. He has been swimming in Torch lake several times and is still trying to make friends with our older two dogs. He has not won them over quite yet, but the relationship is improving.

Charlie today:

It is so fun to watch them grow. I love the updates.

Jack Update!

Just after posting about our new baby, I received an e-mail with pictures of Jack! From all reports he is doing really well and I quote:

"...We went to the vets today. He is very healthy. He definitely has an attitude. I know it looks like he is being spoiled but we have been working on his hunting skills. He is a retrieving fool. Loves the water! The kids took him to the community pool in our subdivision the second week we got him home. Much to their surprise and mine he ran up to the edge of the pool and dove in. Then they couldn't keep him out of the pool so they came home. Not many pups would be that brave. Taking him to a friends this weekend to introduce him to hundreds of Quail, Pheasants and Chuckers. Should be interesting."

I am just tickled to have gotten this report. It just amazes me how much these dogs change in appearance. They've only been gone a month, but look at the difference from when he left until now.

Jack before leaving to his new home:

Jack now:

Isn't he cute!! I've also received updates on Rosie and Hannah . . . once I receive photo's I'll post them too. They are doing well.

August 1st - Meet our new baby!

Introducing B'Nellie. She arrived a week ago Thursday out of North Dakota and her flight went well. She has been camping with us already at Silver Lake and this week she has been able to come to work with me every day. I have to retrain myself on training puppies!

Sleeping on the mat outside of our trailer:

Having lunch at the office. She made a bit of a mess but cleaned it all up.

Lunch is a rawhide bone:

And now she is sound asleep by my feet with a big ole' belly!

Hopefully I'll have some photo's of our litter soon to update. I can't wait to see how they've changed!

Thursday - July 10 - Empty Nesters!

We had the pleasure of holding a puppy one extra week until her new "people" could pick her up last night. It was little Hannah and we had a fun week with just one to chase around . . . she did most of the chasing though.

Hannah hanging out with Uncle Brinkley:

Hannah cuddling up with mom:

Hannah on a pillow:

I can't believe they are all gone now. This morning seemed so strange - no newspapers to pick up, floor to clean, fresh paper to put down, puppies to cuddle, feed, etc. etc.

I had the pleasure of meeting almost every family with the exception of LuLu's family out in Oregon. Not that she didn't try to get here though! What a stressful day that was - but she made it out there just fine and from all reports she and all the others are doing great. They even re-named LuLu "Rawley" which is just such a thrill for me.

Now the big news - we will be getting a new puppy ourselves in two weeks. Another little girl to train, hunt with, sleep with, camp with and eventually breed as long as all her tests are good. We are very excited and will post a picture of her when she arrives.

Also - we will be breeding Hailey and Huntley again next January for March pups - ready for homes in May. IF all goes according to plan! You all know how women can be! :0)

I will be updating and posting pictures of the "kids" as their new owner's send the pictures to me. I'm also going try and make this a more traditonal "web page" as time permits.

It's been my pleasure and hope everyone continues to be happy with their new babies!

Monday, June 30

Over the weekend, 3 of our babies went to their new homes. Before leaving they each had a nice bath which they seemed to enjoy and lots of quality play time in the house. It was hard to see each one leave, but they have wonderful homes to go too and that is such a good feeling.

Rosie loved the water:

Bye Rosie:

After his bath and lots of playtime, Charlie simply got up walked over to a kennel he has never been in before, laid down and went to sleep. It was all we could do to wake him up for his ride home. Bye Charlie:

It was the hardest for my oldest daughter to see Jack go. He is going to have a great home too which is very reassuring. My husband will miss the little guy too - he loved to get in his lap and have his belly rubbed.

Jack with his dad Huntley:

Bye Jack:

Here is a shot of Hailey after the pups were playing with her. Both of her ears are flipped on top of her head:

This morning she took over my chair . . . she is starting to get back to her normal routine now.

Hannah rests after her playtime:

And finally, the last 3 fight over a bag and are having a ball hanging onto it and tearing around the house. From left to right is Hannah, Lulu and Leroy:

Enjoy!

Friday, June 27th

Bernie made it home safe and sound last night and his new family are enjoying him. Well . . . that was last night before they tried to get a full nights sleep! :0)

This weekend we have to say good bye to Rosie, Charlie and Jack. I will miss each and every one of them! There is nothing like going out to the pole barn at 6 a.m. and have 7 puppies so happy to see you, lick you, chew on you . . . all clamoring over each other to be the one that gets the most attention.

Oh, here is a shoe to chew on! Beware everyone - they LOVE shoe laces so I always wear my crocks around them.

Jack and mom look out the screen:

Jack with both his mom and dad:

Leroy lays by mom this morning:

He's getting ready to pounce on her here:

I'll be home all next week, so I'm not sure how many photo's I'll be able to get on here with dial up Internet, but I will try. I do hope that all the new parents send me photo's so I can keep the site going. It'll be fun to see how they continually change and I will post their accomplishments too.

7 Weeks Old Today!

Today is mostly about Bernie because he is getting picked up to go to his new home. Bernie is the puppy that gets lost in the shuffle sometimes, hardly ever demanding attention, yet eager to explore and ready to play.

Bernie looks for Mom's approval:

Bernie is ready to pounce on mom:

Bye Bernie:

Bernie & Lulu get a fresh drink of water:

I think Leroy is a bit sleepy:

This is what I see right before leaving for work:

Have a great day everyone!

Wednesday, June 25

How long does it take to cut the nails of 7 puppies?
About 25 minutes and they must be very sleepy . . . .

I brought my camera so today's post is all about photos!

Bernie with mom:

Charlie is all pooped out!

Jack the Licker:

Let us out of here!

Our kennels:

I hope those make up for the last couple of days! I'll be taking them all to the vet this afternoon for their first set of shots and check up. Wish me luck - I guess I'm flying solo getting them there and then my oldest daughter is meeting me to help. I'm sure all the assistances at the vets office will be willing to help too.
