Over the weekend, 3 of our babies went to their new homes. Before leaving they each had a nice bath which they seemed to enjoy and lots of quality play time in the house. It was hard to see each one leave, but they have wonderful homes to go too and that is such a good feeling.

After his bath and lots of playtime, Charlie simply got up walked over to a kennel he has never been in before, laid down and went to sleep. It was all we could do to wake him up for his ride home. Bye Charlie:


It was the hardest for my oldest daughter to see Jack go. He is going to have a great home too which is very reassuring. My husband will miss the little guy too - he loved to get in his lap and have his belly rubbed.

Friday, June 27th

Bernie made it home safe and sound last night and his new family are enjoying him. Well . . . that was last night before they tried to get a full nights sleep! :0)

This weekend we have to say good bye to Rosie, Charlie and Jack. I will miss each and every one of them! There is nothing like going out to the pole barn at 6 a.m. and have 7 puppies so happy to see you, lick you, chew on you . . . all clamoring over each other to be the one that gets the most attention.

Oh, here is a shoe to chew on! Beware everyone - they LOVE shoe laces so I always wear my crocks around them.

I'll be home all next week, so I'm not sure how many photo's I'll be able to get on here with dial up Internet, but I will try. I do hope that all the new parents send me photo's so I can keep the site going. It'll be fun to see how they continually change and I will post their accomplishments too.

7 Weeks Old Today!

Today is mostly about Bernie because he is getting picked up to go to his new home. Bernie is the puppy that gets lost in the shuffle sometimes, hardly ever demanding attention, yet eager to explore and ready to play.

How long does it take to cut the nails of 7 puppies?
About 25 minutes and they must be very sleepy . . . .

I hope those make up for the last couple of days! I'll be taking them all to the vet this afternoon for their first set of shots and check up. Wish me luck - I guess I'm flying solo getting them there and then my oldest daughter is meeting me to help. I'm sure all the assistances at the vets office will be willing to help too.

Tuesday, June 24

I am so mad at myself! I took a bunch of pictures last night to make up for yesterday and left my camera at home!! We did our little romp through the woods again and they all had a blast bopping around and following their mom.

Once home Lulu came in the house for a little while. She is such a little spit fire. Dashing all around the house, dragging a blanket around, standing up to Brinkley and even going up a flight of steps!

Then Leroy came in. He's just mellow. Explores some, bugs mom for a bit and then warms up enough to do a little scampering around.

Lastly, Bernie came in. He wants to explore at his leisure, get on your lap, lick your face and then see what kind of trouble he can get into.

I PROMISE to have pictures on here tomorrow. I feel so bad as I know many of you really look forward to the posts.

Monday, June 23

Good Morning.

I do not have any pictures to post today as I left my camera at home. Also, I hardly took any pictures over the weekend! We did have lots of fun though. We took all of them for a walk down into the woods, then back up the hill, around the house and back to the kennel. This adventure takes a minimum of 3 adults to keep track of them all. They had fun and their little hearts were just a thumping away when we were done. We did this 3 times, and last night I took them all in smaller groups of 2.

Our neighbor has 2 little kids and I saw them out by their wading pool Saturday. So my daughter and I took the 3 girls over to play and walk around in the pool. The pups loved it just as much as the kids did.

Yesterday I saw them out there again, so took Charlie and Leroy over there. Charlie laid right down in the water for a few minutes. When I brought them back home, I set them both down at the end of the driveway for them to walk the final section themselves. The just sat right where I put them leaning against each other. It was the cutest darn thing and I didn't have my camera!!

I'll try to do better tonight!

Friday - June 20th

Happy First Day of Summer!!!

As the puppies continue to grow, it is harder to find a place for them to romp around as the portable fence is too small now. So, we decided to put them in Hailey's large kennel with her dog house and straw to explore. Oh boy, did they have a blast! The videos that I'll post are pretty shaky as I had to be inside the kennel in order to take them. I didn't want the fencing in the shots - so hopefully you wont' get seasick watching them.

Happy Birthday - 6 weeks Old!

Wow, where has the time gone?? Only one more week with some of my babies. I bet some of you are counting down the days! Last night we had a birthday dinner for our youngest daughter while the puppies all played outside. Hailey was really cute with them. She is getting so she does not want to nurse them too much and we are working on weaning and drying her up. She gets in with them and then lays down on her tummy to let them crawl all over her. She has been an excellent mom.

I sat in their kennel for a short time before bed last night and found that their teeth are getting quite sharp! They just love the attention and are crawling all over you given the chance. This morning I fed them dry food and they were able to eat it without a problem.

Happy 20th Birthday to Jessica! My baby - yikes!!!

Last night the puppies spent most of their time outside. I took them all out individually and we ran around the house and played around. Charlie came inside to explore for a little while.

Uncle Brinkley just loves to play with the puppies. Hailey is always close by and is not afraid to let him know if he gets too close or to rough. Of course we are always right there too - but she is more than able to take care of him:

The puppies are all sold now. It is a bittersweet feeling. I would have been more than happy to keep any of them if necessary. I am happy for all the new parents though. Your fun will begin very soon!

Tuesday, June 17

Yesterday was a good day. Instead of mixing the puppy food with the special milk mixture, I simply added some water and they seemed to like that. After they eat a little bit, I let Hailey nurse them for a little while and that calms them all down in the morning. I left the food out during the day since it could not spoil and had my daughter add some more dry food around lunch time. I was thrilled to see the dish empty when I got home from work! That made me feel good about the transition to dry puppy food.

Last night was more play time in the yard with their new toys. We took Jack inside for a little while and let him explore the indoors and have some one on one time.

Happy Monday?? I'm not so sure there is such a thing!

We had a busy weekend meeting new parents, playing in a kiddie pool, staying outside longer and even a car ride!

The puppies are really getting fun now - but they are also quite a handful! Just putting them back into their "home" is quite challenging. They absolutley love to tear up the fresh newspapers that I put down for them. Saturday afternoon my daughter filled up a little wading pool that we have and they each had a chance to at least get their feet wet.

Sunday we loaded them all up into a carrier and headed North for a 30 minute drive. One cried the whole way, then 3 more joined in and it got kind of noisey. When we unloaded them we found Charlie and Jack sound asleep as if nothing was going on.

Leroy got to sit in my daughter's lap the whole way. I probably shouldn't take pictures and drive at the same time, but he was SO cute!


The purpose of our trip was to go down by the shore and see how the puppies liked it. Her "beach" is more of a sloppy swamp area, so only a few followed us down there, Lulu being the bravest walking along the watery shoreline. After the car ride I didn't want to force any of them, just take it a step at a time so to speak. I didn't have my camera though!!

Once back in the kennel for the ride home they were all pooped out and not a peep out of any of them.
