THE BABIES ARE HERE!!

Hailey was showing signs of going into labor Sunday afternoon, so I tried to prepare for what I expected would be a long evening. We moved her whelping box out to the pole barn and got comfortable:


The first puppy was born at 11 p.m. Sunday night and it was a boy. At 11:30 p.m. the next little boy was born. Then we waited, and waited and went outside SO many times. I was even on the phone with the vet a few times as things were not progressing very quickly. At one crazy moment, Hailey decided to get into the laundry basket I used to keep the new pups warm while she gave birth:


Finally at 3 a.m. we had a baby girl! 4 a.m. Baby Girl, then at 5 a.m. things started moving a little quicker. At 7:30 a.m. the last little puppy was born. Total of 6 girls and 4 boys. Here are a few of them nursing right after their birth:


They are all doing great and I can see them getting a little bigger already. Here are some shots from this morning - one day old:
