Christmas Updates!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas - especially those of you that had a brand new puppy to share it with. I'm sure they were into all sorts of trouble with the tree, gifts, etc.

Here is a picture of Chumlee - now Henry on his new bed.

Roy (now Father Shamus) is learning all sorts of things already and was great help tearing apart presents this year. Here he is with dreams of his future in his head...

Taking a break outside...

I also received a Christmas picture of Sadie/Libby (Hailey's 2nd litter)simply saying "We love this dog!" She is now 1 1/2 years old and looks like her momma!

Then there is my Emmitt update ..... he's always been the ham of that same litter. He gets to open his own presents, and helps others open their's too .....

Please keep those updated coming!! There are several that I haven't heard from in a long time and I'd love to read about how they are doing and see some pictures too!

Happy New Year!!

New family for Christmas.....

Sienna (now Georgi) fell in love with her new family last night and they had a safe drive home with her sleeping on her dad's lap the whole way. B'Nellie seemed a little lost without her play buddy. She hung out in the pole barn while we put things away and kept wanting to go outside. After a while, Cushman the cat snuggled up to her and let her mother him.

New family photo...

This one says it all ....

I received an update from Pearl's (now Roxy)family too and she is doing very well, loving the snow and her 3 kids to play with. The youngest is still a little leary of her as you can see here ....

I'm sure that will change with time and they'll grow up together being best buds!!

It was quite strange last night and especially this morning not having any puppies around. I'm just tickled that they all have such wonderful familes.

The final puppy .....

Well, today the last puppy leaves for her new home. B'Nellie has had so much fun playing with her, I think she is really going to miss her. She's been real good and we've had lots of fun chasing cats, fetching toys and finding wood outside to chew on. She sticks close to the house and runs to the door when she is ready to come in. My husband keeps asking "can we just keep her?" and I have to keep saying "no, she has a family waiting for her".

Taking a nap with mom ....

Sienna takes over my chair, just like her mom does every morning....

Here is B'Nellie laying on my lap with Sienna on top of her. I was nice and warm...

Snuggling up to Hailey....

She takes over Jeff's chair too while he is out of town....

A short video of the two playing tug of war with an old pair of socks...

Today marks the end of another fun journey in puppy land. I look forward to the updates as they filter in and I will be sure to post them when I receive them. In the meantime, thanks for keeping up with us every day. I know we have many that follow along and we'd like to take this time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!

Long stressful day

I was up very early to get Elsie to the airport this morning. She did well on the ride over but then was crying when I left, so it was pretty hard leaving her. Her flight to Detroit went fine but then for some reason they kept her an extra two hours there so she didn't get to her new home as quickly as expected. She arrived safely though with a clean crate which was good news.

This afternoon I brought Sienna to work with me. I think she was pretty upset being alone all morning and only wants to be held. She is finally sleeping at my feet and I'm sure once we are home with the rest of the gang she'll be fine. Everything is new right now.

Sienna being silly.....

Elsie on the bottom, Sienna on Top....

I have an adorable picture of Sienna sleeping right now, but my camera card reader stopped working!

Have a great weekend!

Playtime at lunchtime.....

It is a challenge to get a single good picture while playing outside, but I managed to get a couple of Elsie. The pictures of Sienna were a leg her, a paw there .... but she is on the video a little bit.

This is the undivided attention of 3 dogs as I hold their ball in my hand. Elsie keeps trying to nurse and B'Nellie lets them both do it, but I don't beleive they are getting anything anymore....

crazy pups and dogs video

Last night B'Nellie taught Elsie and Sienna how to go down the steps. They both just whimpered at the top looking down, so she kept going up and showing them the way down. After they did it once - that was all it took. They just love, love, love being in the house and having all that room to run around. All the big dogs tolerate them quite well too which is wonderful.

Here are a couple of pictures of Vinnie in his new home...

He looks quite comfortable...

And here is the video of play time this morning with all the dogs .... the cats were smart and escaped to the garage when they had the chance ....

Almost an empty nest.

We had a very busy weekend passing out puppies and it was so much fun to meet most everyone for the first time, and seeing a few of you for the 2nd time! I can't help but wonder what the others think as the litter kept getting smaller and smaller as the day went on Saturday. At one point I found the 4 remaining laying under a bed rather than on top of it, maybe hoping that they could stay together that way?

I do believe there are 8 happy families, getting little sleep, but also getting lots of puppy kisses and snuggle time.

The first to go late Friday night was Vinnie. In order to beat the bad weather reports, they drove through the night to get home. I've received word that they made it fine and all are doing well. I'll have to post the pictures they sent too - tomorrow.

Checking out his new Christmas toy before leaving....

His new happy family....

The next morning, bright and early, Lola left for West Virginia. I asked them to send me a family photo which I'll add when I get it, but here she is with her new toy before leaving....

Micky went home to Ohio to surprise a couple of boys that had no idea they were getting a puppy! I cannot think of a better gift for anyone, young or old....

Pearl was also a surprise for 3 young boys. One got to join his dad for the surprise and hold her on the way home - I am waiting to hear what the other's thought of her....

Then it was Chumlee's turn to go. He also had a very long trip out to Pennsylvania, I'm sure there was lots of bonding going on during that trip....

Ollie went next and he'll still be in Michigan, right in the area that we camp during the summer, so I will be anxious to see him this summer.....

Last on Saturday to go was Sparty. Even though they are Michigan fans (a-hem), they put that aside and picked him. :-) He was going home to meet his 5 year old big brother and I think the 2nd picture here about says it all.....

Then yesterday, big boy Roy was picked up. I think they had the worst travel day as far as weather goes. He'll be in Michigan too in our camping area.

So, now we are down to Sienna and Elsie. I'll be flying Elsie out to New York this Friday and snuggling with Sienna all weekend. Last night I brought them both in the house and the Christmas tree - which thankfully is not decorated yet - was a HUGE play thing. They were just panting from running round and round and grabbing branches!! I tried to get a video but they are just too fast.

Shew - I think that is it for today! Big hugs to all the pups that are gone.

The last three taunt the cats and dogs.....

All of the pups had a great time in the house. None are too shy to explore, some a little more cautious than others and all had lots of fun romping and stretching those little legs. Elsie especially took notice of the cats and chased Cushman all over the room. Cushman is very mellow and took the extra attention quite well.

Ollie with the cat toy, notice Vespa watching cautiously in the background:

Lola stalks the camera in this photo. It was something to see her next to her mom, she is an exact replica of her mom with the same spot placement ...

Elsie tries to get the cat toy from mom:

This is a popular toy with all the pups it seems.....

And here is B'Nellie and Hailey just watching ....

I'm a bit sad today knowing that tonight is my last night with 7 of the puppies. I'm not sure what we'll do - maybe go outside to play seeing as the weather looks like it will be decent.

To all of you traveling tomorrow - drive safely!

Puppies in the house continues .....

I guess I really am getting older and had a brain fart last night. Sienna enjoyed another visit in the house last night. Roy came in too and that was all I had time for last evening. Tonight I'll be sure to get the others in after we go find a Christmas tree!

They ALL escape the kennel as soon as the door is wide enough to squeeze through. When Pearl escaped for a short time she was just zipping around like a wild child.

Sienna and mom....

Roy was funny because he is so big. He'd run a couple of feet and then plop down. One of the cats was laying right in the middle of the floor and he never did pay him any attention.

Big boy Roy with Big boy dad....

And with mom too .....

So, tonight ..... Lola, Ollie and Elsie .... I think!? Yep....I double checked.

Only 2 more days before the goodbyes begin.

More puppies in the house.....

First Vinnie came in. I can only imagine what the kittens are thinking by all these different puppies I keep bringing into the house.

Then it was Sparty's turn.

Chumlee wanted to come in next, he heard that there were cats to meet:

And lastly it was Sienna's turn. She is full of energy and nothing phases her, least of all a couple of kittens. Here she is chewing on a cat toy and that is Hailey laying in the background keeping a watchful eye on her:

Tuesday, December 6th .....

It was very cold, snowy and windy last night, so we opted to stay inside and play in the water instead! I think you should all have a very easy time bathing these pups as they all can't seem to get enough of the water. Now a big lake or pond might be intimidating at first, but I'm pretty sure they'll all get in sooner rather than later.

Even after all that playtime some of them still did not want to settle down and it is simply useless to put fresh paper down until they tire out, so I started taking a couple in the house to check things out. First Micky came in and the two cats said "what the heck!" The pups could care less about the kittens and went for their toys instead. I also brought Pearl in last night, but my camera ran out of memory space ... time to start deleting videos!!

Vespa (one of our kittens) watches cautiously as Micky enjoys her toy:

B'Nellie relaxes on Katie's lap as she settles back into what used to be normal:

Oh what fun to play in warm water....
