May 30th already and 5 weeks old!

Wow, where do the weeks go? I guess when you are busy, busy, busy the time just flies by! I got out of work a little early Friday afternoon, so I was able to take them all outside for the first time without having to worry about mosquitos. They loved it out there, and you can see in the pictures the big dogs were quite curious too. Although, I think the big dogs were much more interested in getting one of the toys away from the puppies - especially the tennis ball.

B'Nellie waits patiently....

Spreading out in the heat yesterday .... quite humid!

Tug of war with the rope toy....

Peeps is all pooped out after her first time outside.....

As are these two....

I think they have matching eyes....

They missed her as she was gone all weekend....

We'll all gang up on mom.....

Peek a boo.....

At this stage they can only handle about 15-20 minutes of outdoor time especially in weather like we had yesterday and today. When we put them back inside yesterday, they literally flopped right where we set them down and slept.

My helper is anxiously awaiting pool time and romping through the woods even though it'll be a few days yet...probably this weekend.

Enjoy!

Memorial Day Weekend!

A long weekend means more at home time with the babies - yea!! Those little sharp teeth are coming in. As I was squatting and petting 4 or 5 at a time, one came around and started chewing on my heal - ouch!

I had a couple of the girls outside yesterday, Candy and Tasket, and they loved the grass. All these new experiences are kind of scary for them at first, but it is amazing how quickly they adapt and start to explore. This weekend all of them will get time outside which will tired them out, no doubt.

This morning Hailey decided to lay up on her bed rather than stand to nurse them. So, while some were hanging with mom .... others were eating their food. They'd change it up at times too.

Quiet night

They seem to all have settled into their new digs and it was a very quiet night last night. Hailey stays out in her kennel now during the day and visits with them in the morning, at lunch time and a few times in the evening. Especially for the bedtime snack. They eat their food heartily now and it is mostly ground up, softened puppy food with just a little baby cereal mixed in.

I guess there wasn't enough room in the box for JellyBelly and E.B....

So now they have ALL taken to the elevated bed ....

Candy sleeps....

To give you an idea on how much your puppy is going to change over the next few months, below is a picture of a puppy from Hailey's 2nd litter (Sadie - now Libby) and as you can see she had a longer coat.

And how she looks today .... just beautiful!!

First night without mom ....

Last night we took out the whelping box as they were not using it anymore and therefore giving them more room to romp and play. I put the bottom portion of my largest crate in there to give them the comfort of a den to huddle together in. They also have Hailey's elevated bed to lay on top of and hide under.

About 2 a.m. I could hear one of them crying on the baby monitor and decided I had better go out and check on them. Well, that is never just a 5 minute thing, because how can you help but hold a couple of them and get a few kisses?

Hailey is so cute in the morning, pressing herself against the door and looking with those soulful eyes communicating that she needs to go out and see her babies!!

This morning I also added a smaller crate without a door so they have a place to hide and play and sleep.

4 Weeks Old!!

Oh, what a fun, busy weekend we had. It started Friday night when one of B'Nellie's puppies came to visit along with her family and boys ....

This was our "Pearl" and the runt of the litter. Her name is Roxy and she looks just like her mom....

The boys think the pups are great ....

Then Saturday and Sunday the process of choosing puppies started. There are still 2 girls left to be picked. It is so hard, because there is not a bad one in the bunch!!

Peeps...

Close quarters for all of them, but they seem to like it there....

Tisket, Peeps and Cadbury take over Hailey's bed.....

Is there anything cuter??

Play time is getting more rambunctious and they are finding out how to play with toys and tug on blankets....

FRIDAY - gotta love Friday!

I know I do, because then I have a full weekend of puppy time!! This weekend will be full of visitors too which is always fun.

The pups are getting too big for Hailey to nurse them laying down anymore, so they work real hard to eat sitting or standing. Last night my husband needed to turn on his big compressor which is quite loud and they really could have cared less. They are getting curious about the hose running too. Next week the box will come out of their area and more playing will commence.

New way of nursing....

Resting on the fence....

Jelly Belly is sleepy....

Cadbury is pretty tired too....

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Messy, Messy Kids!

They have certainly adapted to licking up the baby cereal - even if it means standing in the dish to do so! I absolutely LOVE this stage of their development. Last night I found a spot to sit inside the box with them all and let them crawl all over me, give kisses and just play. Pretty soon they will have teeth and those little teeth are so sharp .... I'm always sure to wear my oldest t-shirts and my crocks as they seem indestructible.

Peeps is the queen of escaping. This morning she was all alone with her momma....

EB thinks he can cross over to the other side too....

Oh darn, I am not sure which one this is.....

Chow Time!
