Daily happenings.....

Last night it was fairly mild out, so I turned on the flood lights and took 5 outside at a time. We ran around and played with the help of my husband and B'Nellie and then brought out the 2nd group to do the same. Bourbon wasn't ready to settle down yet, so he came inside and terrorized the big dogs for a little while.

This morning Bacardi came in the house while I was getting ready for work. Mom seemed a bit tired and irritable to have him bugging her. Those of you with kids, can probably relate!

More pictures and videos.....

Oh boy has the activity level ever increased! We went outside a few times over the long weekend, and one time was in the light rain so they could experience that too. Every night a few come in the house one at a time to explore a little and stretch their legs. It gets dark so early now, that the only time to really take them outside in on the weekends.

Here are some pictures of their outside adventures and the smell of that first phesant wing.

Thanksgiving weekend....

We hosted Thanksgiving dinner at our home this year, so the pups had plenty of visitors. They love the little ones that are more there size. We went outside twice yesterday and this morning we are going to try for a walk in the woods before the rain starts. They are eating only puppy food watered down with a few whole pieces. Those razor sharp teeth are coming in. We also spend some individual time in the house and the big dogs are playing nicely with them.

Unfortunately I cannot add photos from my iPad at home. I should have plenty on Monday. There are some on the Rawley Point Kennel Facebook page though.

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend.

Monday, November 21 pictures .....

Saturday morning we took out the whelping box and I put a large kennel bottom in there to substitute as a bed along with an elevated bed which they love to climb on and hide under. This gives them much more room to run around and play. We are working on paper training and most of the time they are quite good about it, but then most of the time, I have lots of mopping to to regardless.

Food is mostly ground up puppy food with just a little baby cereal mixed in. B'Nellie loves to be on hand to finish up anything they can't eat.

Wednesday we will go outside for the first time. It looks like we are going to have a nice little stretch of weather that they can enjoy before experiencing their first snowfall.

All but two pups have been choosen for their new homes, and I think everyone is tickled with their choices. It was fun meeting those of you that came over to pick them out in person.

Bourbon and Belvedere were the first two born and were together alone for a long time before more pups came. I often find them laying close to each other. Probably just a coincidence....

While all the others sleep in the new bed, Bacardi is hoping for some snuggle time .... he got it too....

Loving the new bed....

4 weeks old!

Tomorrow I will start mixing ground up puppy food in with the baby cereal. I can feel the little razor sharp teeth pushing through. They love having room to run out of the whelping box and tomorrow we will take that out so they have even more room to move around. They are learning to play with toys, climb up on the bed, and the noise of the newspaper seems to be fascinating to them.

The picking process kicks off this weekend too. Looking forward to meeting those that are making the trip this weekend.

Here is Belvedere looking out from under mom's head. He was the first boy to get picked last night, and he'll be joining his big brother Kugel which is one of B'Nellie's puppies from last year....

Chardonnay takes a breather .... just like a good wine....

Merlot mellows out ...

Moscato accidentally poses for the camera....

Shiraz is ready to take off with the panda bear before someone trys to get it...

Have a great weekend!

Just a quick video

I set the pie plate full of rather thick baby cereal down at lunch time today and then went to take care of the other dogs. 10 minutes later .... if that, every bit of it was gone! Here they are romping around afterwards and you can see the clean plate. They are getting more and more familiar and comfortable with their surroundings outside of the whelping box.

Enjoy the romp.....

First food .... baby cereal....

YUM! It was as if they were waiting for the first chance to lap up some baby food the way they took right to it. It is always quite messy, but I'd say they eat about 95% of it. Afterwards, mom comes in to clean up the dish and clean up her babies.

They are getting more and more accustomed to being outside the box and many are escaping now. The first one to escape was Bourbon (Yellow). At some point in the middle of the night I could hear a continual cry, so I went out to investigage. Belevedere (Lt. green) was cuddle up on mom's bed sleeping, while Bourbon as making a fuss also outside the box hanging out with mom. This coming weekend, the whelping box will be removed and they will have more room to roam.

Saturday afternoon, my great niece's and nephew visited the pups....

3 Weeks Old already!

Where does the time go? They are getting to the fun stage now .... and the more work for me stage too. But that is okay!! They are barking and growling so much now and walking - boy can some of them walk around good. I am betting that Merlot (dark green girl) will be the first to escape the box. She just seems to be the most adventurous, vocal and independent.

This weekend I will start feeding them baby cereal which is always a fun and messy experience. By the end of the week I'll start adding in ground up puppy food as the transition continues. I cuddle with each one every night. There is nothing like a puppy licking your face. Puppy breath is the best!!

6 out of 10 cuddle up ....you can really see their coats changing now.....

Mom takes a break on her elevated bed. These are great for the pups too!

Snuggle time with Bourbon. He has such a dark, handsome face.....

Snuggling with Jager too....

Here they are walking around and trying to get to me....

Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

More random photos .... and assigning names!

I figure it is about time I assign names to these little cuties! Last night I weighed them all again and put bigger ribbons on. We have some that are well over 3 pounds now. The last one last night was the little white girl - now Chardonnay and she was so cuddly. I couldn't put her down, so we went in the house an snuggled a little longer in my recliner.

Chardonnay cuddles in my arms.....

Belvedere - the light green boy.....

Bourbon - the yellow boy.....

Riesling - Dark Brown girl ....
